Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes! We prefer that you book an appointment; this is so our Eleganza Stylists can prepare for your visit. As much as we would like to, we cannot promise to be available for walk in appointments.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Our stylists ask that you create an Eleganza ‘Love List’ on our website. This gives us an idea of your personal style and allows you to set a budget.
Do you charge for appointments?
When scheduling a weekend or Thursday evening appointment, a small deposit of £25 is taken. This is fully refundable upon attendance.
Who should I bring to my appointment?
We like to keep appointments personal and memorable, we suggest three guests at most; usually two is the perfect number!
What time should I arrive for my appointment?
In order to fully benefit from each appointment, it is important for our brides to arrive punctually and maximise their time with our stylists. Our busy schedule means that we cannot always afford the luxury of running over time.
How far in advance of my wedding date should I book my first appointment?
At Eleganza Sposa we understand how much work is involved in planning a wedding. Therefore we recommend booking your appointment well in advance so that we can arrange a time that works best for you.
What is a 'Love List'
The Eleganza 'Love List' is a feature on our website which allows our brides to collate the dresses and accessories they like and save them in one place. Our stylists can then utilise these lists in preparation of first appointments in order to understand the styles and designs favoured by each bride.
What is a Designer Day?
These exclusive events allow our brides access to new collections, and give them the opportunity to gain some insight into the designs from the designers themselves!
Do I need to book and appointment for Designer Days and Trunk Shows?
Yes, all appointments at Eleganza need to be scheduled in advance. It is advisable to book early for these events due to their popularity and limited availability.
What is a Trunk Show?
At Eleganza, we are always looking for the freshest designs for our brides. Hosting Trunk Shows gives our designers the opportunity to showcase new designs, many of which are only available for the duration of the event. Our brides who attend these events are therefore able to preview new dresses and speak to a representative from the brand who will be in attendance.
What if I can no longer make my appointment?
Please contact one of our stylists to let us know if you can no longer make your appointment and need to reschedule. Our weekend and Thursday evening appointments require a £25 deposit to secure the booking. This deposit will be refundable up to 48 hours before your appointment.
Can I take photos of my dress during my appointment?
While we are more than happy for our brides to take pictures within the designated areas of our store, we have restrictions in place with regards to photography of gowns at the request of our designers. Please speak to your stylist if you wish to FaceTime a loved one during your appointment and we will facilitate this.
Bridal Party and Occasionwear
Do you have any First Communion dresses at Eleganza?
Yes! Our Eleganza Piccola collection has a number of dresses suitable for First Holy Communions and flower girls. In addition, our seamstresses are able to make bespoke pieces to suit your specific needs.
Sizing and Fitting
How do I know what size I need?
Measurements will be taken by your stylist during your first appointment. They will then be able to advise on suitable sizing.
What happens if I want to lose weight?
Any plans to lose weight should be discussed with your stylist at your first appointment. They will be able to advise you on how best to proceed.
When should I schedule my alterations?
Each bride is different so your stylist will be able to advise you personally on how best to proceed.
What happens at the first fitting?
Once your dress has arrived in store, you will be prompted to attend your first fitting. The first fitting gives you the opportunity to try on your dress and discuss any alterations required. The duration of the first fitting is usually one hour. Your stylist will then determine whether a second fitting is necessary.
Could you recommend anyone to carry out my dress alterations?
Eleganza Sposa have partnered with Karen Rotchford, whose team of experienced seamstresses will be available to offer our brides a bespoke alterations service at Burlington House, Bath Street.
Why do I need a fitting?
Fittings allow our brides to have their dress tailored to suit their needs. This is also a great opportunity to try out your wedding look, with some brides scheduling their hair trial to coincide with their fitting.
How many fittings do I need?
The number of fittings can vary from bride to bride. However, the standard is two.
What do I need for the fitting?
Fittings are the perfect opportunity to test the shoes and accessories you plan to wear on your wedding day.
On what days are fittings available?
Partnering with Karen Rotchford has allowed Eleganza to offer an alternative and more flexible option for fittings. We understand how precious time is in the lead up to your wedding and hope to alleviate any pressure with appointments now available in Burlington House on Thursday (including late nights), Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
How much will alterations cost?
Our standard alterations package costs £380.
What size are the sample dresses?
Sample dresses come in a variety of sizes, including plus size. If they don’t fit, our stylists are trained to pull in and open up the backs of gowns to make them appear as though they fit.
Who decides what dresses I try?
Our stylists ask that you create a Love List on our website, this allows them to understand your style and budget before arrival. Once in store, your stylist will talk to you about your wedding; with an understanding of your personality, style and budget, they will pull dresses for you.
What prices are the dresses?
With prices ranging from £1200 - £8000 it’s a good idea to have a budget in mind. This way our stylists can help you find the dress that suits you best.
How do I purchase my wedding dress?
Once you have found the perfect dress, a fifty percent payment will be taken at the point of order. The remaining balance should then be made within two weeks of your dress arriving in store. This also applies to accessories, belts and veils.
Is my wedding dress insured?
As members of the RBA, Eleganza Sposa brides can insure their dress with confidence.
Can I personalise my dress?
Dress modifications can be made on request. Eleganza Sposa can also tailor bespoke pieces on request.
When do I collect my dress?
You should collect your dress as soon as it arrives in store.
What is an 'off the peg' dress?
For our brides who fall in love with a dress as soon as they try it on, Eleganza offer the option to purchase the sample dress 'Off the peg'. These dresses are a great option for brides who are pushed for time as there's no need to factor in order and delivery time!
Transport, Aftercare and Storage
My wedding is abroad, how should I transport my dress?
Travel boxes are available for purchase. Dresses can be packed securely by one of our stylists on request.
How should I clean and store my dress after the wedding?
Eleganza's relationship with Sew Clean Dry Cleaners means that we can recommend gown aftercare with confidence. Our museum approved storage boxes are an excellent way to maintain the condition of your dress long after your wedding.
