Eleganza Real Bride Samantha’s Eleganza Experience was ‘like something from a fairytale’.

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

Finding my dream dress at Eleganza was a dream come true! I had walked past the stunning bay window of the boutique so many times and had hoped that one day I would find myself in there trying on the dresses from the beautiful window displays.

From the moment I stepped into the shop I couldn’t believe how special I felt. The staff were so kind and welcoming to me and my party (including my wonderful Dad), the shop was like something from a fairytale and the dresses were all just incredible.

What was your favourite part of planning your wedding?

My favourite part of wedding planning was definitely dress shopping. I was lucky enough to fall in love with my dream dress in the first shop.. Eleganza and the experience was everything I had hoped for and more! Trying on the first dress was for me, the moment it all started to feel real and the excitement truly hit me!

Tell us all about your Savin London dress!

I did the one thing that you really shouldn’t do when looking for dress inspiration.. I fell in love with a dress online and pinned all of my hopes and dreams on that one dress! I arrived wanting to try on that dress and nothing else.

The lovely stylist at Eleganza suggested that I try on a few other dresses first as it was my first ever time dress shopping and I am so pleased that I did – it was a lot of fun! I tried on a fitted and very plain dress, a big princess dress, a beautiful lace dress and then THE dress. I put it on and instantly knew it was the dress for me. I loved everything about it, I loved that it was floaty and comfortable, it had so much intricate detail that made you want to stare at every section of it until you had seen it all. It felt unique and a little bit unusual and I never wanted to take it off! Paired with the most beautiful veil, I felt amazing.

What was your inspiration for your wedding?

We wanted a relaxed wedding venue to reflect us as a couple, we visited Guardswell Farm before it had opened when it was still a building site with no windows or doors but even still we just fell in love with the whole feel of the place. The relaxed vibe and beautiful views were the inspiration for our planning.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

We called upon a number of our wonderful friends and family and their many, many talents to fill our special day with amazing creations. From performing in the ceremony, designing the bridal bouquets and button holes, a hanging wall piece for the ceremony room, our wedding cake, favours, table decorations and my hair and make up. All of this made the day feel so incredibly special along with the simply wonderful team at Guardswell Farm, the most delicious wedding breakfast from Truffle Events, amazing music from Drams Ceilidh Band and beautiful photos from Rachel McNeil photography. We also loved our secret cheese room, revealed at 9.30pm and filled with Mellis Cheese and delicious accompaniments!

What was the most memorable moment?

This is a tricky question… For me the most memorable moment was giving my ‘Bride’s speech’ I umm-ed and ahh-ed about doing a speech for so long and I am so pleased that I did. It was such a special moment to thank all of the people closest to us for being so amazing! Euros’ most memorable moment was seeing me and my dress as I walked down the aisle.

Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?

My favourite photo is of Euros and me in the forest once it had gone dark. It was so nice to disappear from the fun, laughter and dancing for a few minutes once the stress of the day was over and share in that moment together.

Eleganza Real Bride Shanna took great pleasure in organising her wedding, creating lists for everything! Surrounding herself with supportive family, friends and experts in each field she created her perfect wedding day!

I came into Eleganza after visiting a few other shops after which I established exactly what I didn’t want for my dress! I had pretty much exhausted all avenues and had started to come to the conclusion that the dress I had envisaged for myself may not actually have existed.
One of the girls came through with a couple of silk dresses which I hadn’t even thought to consider. If I’m honest, I wasn’t immediately enthralled when I saw it hanging up. However, when I put on the second dress I felt myself a little disorientated – I knew this was my dress the second I showed my mum and sister!
I hadn’t even considered Martina Liana dresses before I tried the two my stylist selected for me during my appointment! I went into the process with too many expectations and opinions on my body shape etc. I was so wrong – trust the professionals 🙂
Everything during my Eleganza Experience was smooth sailing. Zero blips and I was very well accommodated!
My husband proposed to me in Gleneagles for my 23rd birthday – which also happened to be our seven year anniversary!
I had a relatively stress free wedding planning experience which was definitely an added bonus!
For me organisation was key – I had lists for everything.
Once the big things are all organised and taken care of, all of the smaller, finer details start to take shape. I fortunately had very professional, reliable suppliers! There is not one thing I would have changed about our perfect day!
The best moments for me were walking into the venue for the first time after the ceremony with the place lit up with all the candles and the smell of all the fresh flowers. It was something out of a fairy tale and my florist Amy Annand was incredible!
Additionally, watching our two beautiful daughters dancing with these massive smiles, covered is chocolate and strawberries because it was their day too and we finally all share the same surname!
My dress was a mikado silk, mermaid style dress with trumpet skirt and button detailing at the back. With latticed, hand stitched lace round the sweetheart neckline which also cascaded down each side of the waist, the visible boning adding structure to the dress.
I chose to wear the tiny silk spaghetti straps with my dress. I felt the way a bride should feel on her wedding day.
My bridal party were all tearing up, so was my hair stylist and make up artist. I was like ‘you guys are all tearing up and I haven’t even seen myself yet’….. Then when I looked in the full length mirror I couldn’t believe it was me looking back! I looked even better than I had thought possible!
My dad walked in and instantly walked out blubbering like a baby. I am one of four daughters (no brothers) and I was the first to get married, so this was a truly intimate moment for my dad particularly when he walked me over to the ceremony and down the isle as proud as punch!
When I sat down with my florist I went through styles to determine what I liked and didn’t like. We pinged ideas back and forth and Amy’s incredible artistic flare was instrumental in helping me make any decisions with regards to flowers, buttonholes and dressing the venue which made things really easy!
I’m a control freak, but had so much confidence in Amy that I handed her the reigns and she blew the roof off the place!
I didn’t want a predictable wedding, I like to do my own thing and choose colours, styles that most may settle too soon on! I showed Amy my bridesmaid dresses, the groomsmen kilts as well as a swatch for my dress and she went from there with little pops from everything…. on the day the bouquets tied everything together like a dream!
The team at The Byre are Amazing. The whole day was coordinated perfectly and there was always someone on hand for any of our or our guests’ needs…. but you never saw them – I’m certain they were hiding in stone walls!
The ceremony – the story of our journey so far and our hopes for our future!
We have been together since we were 16 and 20… Nine years and we have our house and our girls already…. This was our last thing to do, and getting married is more than just a piece of paper, it’s silly but we finally feel united. It’s an incredible feeling to marry your soulmate!

I have four favourite images.

A photo of me looking at my husbands lips. I still, fourteen weeks on know exactly how I felt in that exact moment.

A photo of our baby Alice dancing under my beautiful veil that the girls from the store styled with my dress.

A photo of our 4 year old daughter Mila peaking round the corner of the dressing room at me once I was ready for the first time (her expression speaks a thousand words).

And the last photo taken of my brother in law Liam doing the splits on the dance floor next to a full glass of red wine….. A reminder of how much of an amazing time all our family and friends had!

The best day ever!

Eleganza Real Bride Emma’s bridal journey began in St Andrew’s when her partner proposed!

Paul proposed to me in July 2016 at the Fairmont hotel in St Andrews for my birthday. It was a total surprise, I had no idea!

What was your favourite thing about planning your wedding?

My favourite planning moment was definitely finding my dress! Fitting appointments and getting my dress home were hands down my favourite part of planning and most exciting!

How would you describe your first appointment?

I loved my first appointment. Eleganza was the first shop I went to try on dresses and it was by far the best shop I went to. I went to a lot then couldn’t wait to go back to Eleganza. The girls made me feel very special at all of my appointments

Did having a personal stylist change your experience?

I had only great experiences in Eleganza. The style I was trying on my first appointment to the appointment where I found my dream dress was completely different. Jenna helped me realise that and only pulled dresses in the style I actually wanted. I found when trying on so many dresses in other shops it’s so easy to get confused and forget what you actually want in your wedding dress. I found my dress but it was missing my dream of a long train…the girls quickly and with no hassle had my extra train added to my dress to ensure it was extremely long exactly what I always wanted.

Tell us more about your overall experience with Eleganza Sposa

Amazing. The girls are all great at their job and nothing is a hassle for them. They are all so friendly and always have suggestions to help you get exactly what you want in your dress. I need to mention the seamstresses – they were phenomenal! They made my dress fit me like it did and added all my extras like train and belt they all were great!

The girls made me feel like I was the only bride to try on dresses (which I know is not the case as it’s a busy popular shop).  They always asked about my wedding how my planning was going and even my groom – who normally gets forgotten about let’s be honest haha!

Tell us about your Riki Dalal dress!

As soon as I put it on, I knew straight away even though it was a few sizes too big. I loved how it was a fitting dress but also went all out at the bottom. The back detail was important for me too as I liked the idea of having a nice back detail when having my back to my guests when getting married and my dress also ticked that box for me. I felt like a princess in my dress. I just loved it.

Did you have a specific them or colour palette at your wedding?

We had our colour as navy. The boys wore kilts to fit with the theme of the castle.

Tell us more about your big day

We had a big wedding with over 200 guests by night time. The weather was just amazing the sun was shining with a little breeze now and again so wasn’t too hot but we got a lot of photos outside which was great and meant me and my groom could watch everyone mingling while getting our photos done. We got married the same day as the royals meaning the Sunday post wrote a story on us and heart radio popped in on our wedding so it was like being a celebrity for the day! Everything went to time on the day. It went perfect every single part!

What was the most memorable moment?

Seeing my husband for the first time on the day

How was your Honeymoon?

We absolutely loved our honeymoon! We started off in Miami then went on a cruise round the Bahamas for a few days. To finish it off we spent a week in Orlando Florida! All the while enjoying being in our wedding bubble.

Eleganza Real Bride Rebecca incorporated the colours from her husband’s tartan kilt into the design of her wedding. She tells us more about her Eleganza Experience below!

From the moment I walked into Eleganza Sposa, I felt like I’d walked into a movie. Everything was white and there was just an air of luxury. This feeling of luxury continued throughout both of my appointments at the store, where Amanda helped me pick out my dream dress. The bubbly was a really nice touch, that you don’t get in many bridal shops anymore.
I loved the entire experience!

My favourite thing was the interior design, and the big flower arch!

My experience was brilliant from start to finish. Amanda helped me consider designs I wouldn’t have immediately chosen for myself. She was friendly, and put me at ease while trying on the dresses. She let me take as long as I needed to make sure I had found ‘the one’!
Tell us all about your Essense of Australia dress!

I saw the dress on the Eleganza website first and immediately added it to my ‘Love List’. The dress incorporated lots of features that I liked: strapless, A-line, a bit of lace, a bit of sparkle and a beautiful train!

As soon as I tried it on, I felt totally amazing and couldn’t get the smile off my face. At the time I said “there’s nothing I don’t like about it”. My sister’s reaction when I showed her it (on FaceTime) before I ‘said yes’ was “it’s perfect, it’s got everything that you want”. That’s when I knew it was the one!

Our colour palette was dark green and cream, with a wooden/rustic feel. The colour choice was to match my husband’s tartan.
We had amazing weather, which meant we could have our ceremony outside overlooking the loch, which was our dream! Unfortunately this also led to a wasp getting stuck in the two tiers between my veil during the ceremony and my dad having to remove it while not scaring me! Apart from that everything went smoothly and it was wonderful seeing all of the people I care about in one place to celebrate our marriage!
Our first dance, which was recorded by my cousin so made even more personal and special for us.
My favourite picture is of my husband and I standing on the Cruin’s jetty. Our photographer got into the loch to take the photo, which was very dedicated and meant we got a very different angle from most people!
Did you honeymoon following your wedding?
Our honeymoon was in Malaysian Borneo, where we took a three day river trip and spotted lots of monkeys, an orangutan and some pygmy elephants! We then went on to a hotel just off the coast of Borneo to totally relax, go snorkelling and eat amazing food! We even had a private BBQ on the beach, which was a memory we will treasure forever!
Please, tell us more about your overall experience at Eleganza Sposa
I was made to feel like a princess. I honestly couldn’t fault the experience. When I had decided on my dress, other Eleganza staff were walking past and telling me how amazing I looked. I was made to feel so special!

Eleganza Real Bride Kirstyn was surprised to find that her dream dress was a completely different style than she had initially imagined!

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

My Eleganza Experience was totally not what I expected! I tried on all of the dresses on my love list but didn’t feel like I had found the one! I was about to leave the shop to go to another appointment when Laura talked me into trying on a style I initially said I really didn’t want – and that is the dress I bought. We added a belt to it and I think that made the dress.

She then chose my veil for me and I was sold. It was just stunning and  felt so special. I can’t thank Laura enough for making me feel so relaxed and encouraging me to venture out with my comfort zone. It most definitely paid off! Oh and the glass of prosecco on arrival was a very nice touch. It most definitely calmed the nerves!

What was your favourite thing about the Eleganza Sposa boutique?

The shop is beautiful in general! The interior, the scent, the atmosphere! The girls are all lovely and the selection of dresses is very unique.

Tell us all about your Suzanne Neville gown!

I loved everything about my dress. The delicate material and the way it moved (especially because my wedding day was windy!) and the fact we made it unique by adding a belt to it during the alterations.

I felt stunning in it, so elegant and beautiful. I’ve never worn a dress like it and that was a big thing for me. My guests were all saying it had the “wow factor” and they expected me in something fitted, so it was nice to hear that they were surprised. My dad also loved it. I managed to keep it hidden until the big day!

What was your inspiration for your wedding?

I wanted my wedding day to be classy but relaxed and that’s exactly what it was. I stuck to neutral colours and I had a harpist playing during my ceremony and the meal. It was beautiful.

Tell us more about your big day!

Our guests told us the atmosphere on the day was great. We had a dry, sunny day at the end of July so our drinks reception could be outside on the patio while we had our photos taken. The Parsonage have beautiful outdoor furniture there. This was a big thing for me.

It was so relaxed and comfortable! The day flowed so well. There was no waiting around as each part of the day was set in a different area of the venue. This was also a big thing for me & my husband & we have the staff at The Parsonage to thank for that.

What was the most memorable moment?

There are lots. I would say the car journey from my mum and dad’s house to the venue was lovely. We were so excited. Our first dance was special.

Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day?

I have lots already! Our photographer is amazing! And our guests took some great photos too! We’re waiting for our final viewing with our photographer and we are so excited to see the rest.

Please, tell us more about your overall experience at Eleganza Sposa

10/10 in comparison to other shops I visited. I was made to feel so relaxed at every appointment and it was so personal.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Eleganza Sposa?

Trust your stylist! They’ll know what suits your shape better than you probably do! (Haha)

Eleganza Sposa – Scottish Retailer of the Year at the Bridal Buyer Awards 2018

The Bridal Buyer Awards 2018

Having spent the weekend in Harrogate catching up with friends old and new from the bridal industry, Eleganza’s final appointment at this year’s Bridal Show was The Bridal Buyer Awards. As finalists in the ‘Scottish Retailer of the Year’ category, it was with excitement and slight apprehension that myself and our operations manager attended the ceremony on the Monday night.
