We recently designed an outfit for our client Dr Antoinette Fionda-Douglas who was looking for a unique piece to stand out at a wedding she was attending; here is her story about her experience with Eleganza...
"I am very fussy when it comes to choosing an outfit. This problem is proliferated when it comes to selecting an outfit for a big occasion like a wedding
Before I had kids, I used to make my own so that I could ensure that I had something different. I also often resorted to this because I found it so difficult to find what I wanted. These days I have no time (or space) for big dress making projects but I still want something different, amazing and made-to-measure.
I had heard that Eleganza were putting together a new collection and I was intrigued. I got an appointment to see Anna Cirignanco about the new collection.
From start to finish I was very impressed with the whole experience. I was initially shown the drawings of the new collection, fabrics, colour ways and had a whole consultation about what would enhance my body shape and suit my colouring. Anna was so knowledgeable and completely understood my desired look. It took a while to choose from all the options! From there I also worked with Helen (their designer) and Miriam (their incredibly talented seamstress) and they made a toile of both the jacket and the dress. I knew it was going to be a fabulous outfit even from the minute I tried on the toile – as I even loved that.
I had two further fittings with the final garments (as they are complete perfectionists). They even helped me choose from my array of accessories I brought with me and added some of the beautiful pink shell leather to my fascinator.
I adored the outfit not just because it looked good (and helped hide all the bits I don’t like about myself) but also because it felt amazing. It fits perfectly. I have had many a dress taken in to fit me in the past but it is nothing in comparison to having something made-to-measure. I was also delighted that I did not have that wedding outfit dread – wondering if somebody would have the same outfit. I absolutely loved wearing my made-to-measure outfit to the wedding.
I cannot recommend the Eleganza Collezioni highly enough. It was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to wear my outfit again. I just wish I had another wedding to wear it to now!!
