How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?
The best ever. I loved the girls there and they treated me like a princess.
Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?
My lovely Ollie proposed back in 2018 in Tenerife. We were on a private beach that our hotel looked out onto and at the time i was able to see the sparkle in the volcanic sand. Ollie didn’t go down on one knee as I wouldn’t have been able to see that so we just lay on a towel on the empty beach at sunset and he asked me.
Tell us more about your Eleganza Iconica gown!
I remember going for my first fitting and I tried on about 5 dresses and as soon as i tried on the very tactile one I burst into tears. I revealed it to my mum and sister and i was already crying before the girls pulled back the curtain. They were so lovely guiding me into the dress at every fitting as i am completely blind. They also made sure that I had the same lovely lady helping me every appointment for consistency. I really didn’t feel like I needed a mirror and that was something I was so worried about. You always think about the moment you see yourself as a bride as the first reveal in the mirror and I didn’t have that, I can honestly say that the experience didn’t feel like it was missing anything because I couldn’t see it. I found other ways with the Eleganza girls to appreciate the dress and they took lots of time, effort and energy describing all the patterns in my dresses. I also loved my time with the tailor at the end of my wedding dress experience. She made my guide dog Miss Molly a collar and it was the cutest thing ever. She also made me some pop-on bardot sleeves. Molly’s collar was made from off cuts of my dress but when I tell you the seamstress was so skilled in her craft it blew me and my family away. She just got it right every time.
What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?
Our colour palette was simple and classic as we got married at Kew Gardens. We had all white flowers. The emphasis was on the touch and smell as I am a blind bride.

Tell us more about your Big Day!
Our wedding day was the best day of our lives. I know i am speaking for Ollie too when I say this but it felt like a movie. During the ceremony we blindfolded our guests as I walked down the aisle with my dad so everyone could experience the moment exactly like i did. We had a flower ceremony and there was so many accessible moments about our day. There were NaviLens codes everywhere so blind and sighted guests could navigate around Kew to the different conservatories. We worked with our caterer to get on drippy dishes so it would be easier for disabled guests to eat the nibbles. We had braille place cards and scented candles on every table at the reception. I had 3D audio as i walked up the isle and scented flowers that cascaded from the top to the bottom of the isle so i could smell how far down I was.
What was the most memorable moment?
Ollie surprised me with the best memory of my entire life. My favourite film is love actually and my girls walked down the aisle to the Glasgow theme. He and my celebrant knew someone who was friends with some of the members of the choir in love actually. Ollie hired the actual choir who got back together for our wedding. I literally could not believe it. I had goose bumps and I could not stop crying with happy tears. I couldn’t believe he pulled it off and he gets best husband award.
Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?
I have a favourite video as I can’t see pictures. It’s this one that went viral on my social media: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C0CfABYIY5C/?igsh=eHBiN2RlY25zbzVm
