Eleganza Real Bride: Louise

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

Eleganza happened to be the first wedding dress shop I experienced in my hunt for my dress. My nerves and worries were immediately put to ease when I entered the shop and was introduced to Rachel who helped me on the day. I never felt rushed or forced into a sale which I really appreciated and I was made to feel special and understood in my hunt for my dress. I loved everything about my experience.

Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?

My fiance Michael proposed to me on a rooftop in Stockholm, overlooking the place we met, where we went on our first date and our current first home together. It was on his birthday too so I absolutely was not expecting it. He said he wants every birthday from now on to remind him of the most special moment in his life.

My favourite thing about wedding planning was having so many special moments with my family, we live in different countries so the wedding brought us together in a way I could never have imagined and I'll cherish every memory I have of the planning leading up to our wedding.

Tell us more about your Suzanne Neville gown!

My vision for my wedding dress was simple, classic, A-line, perhaps satin and maybe with a sleeve. I tried on a few of these styles of dresses and none of them felt 'right' and I didn't like the way I looked in it. Rachel decided to bring out a wildcard, fit and flare, floral detail and no sleeves. Literally the opposite of what I wanted, but I knew the moment I put it on that this is the one. The minimalist, yet feminine details made me feel so beautiful. There was a slight sparkle, especially in daylight yet it was understated and the fit made me feel tall and it flattered me in a way the other dresses didn't. I got the vision of 'I could walk down the aisle in this' and it was so wonderful to share that with my mum, maid of honour and my granny. We all started crying so I knew that was a good sign!

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

The inspiration for my wedding day was Swedish midsummer, which means naturally picked flowers and lots of candles to create a cosy atmosphere. Rustic, yet modern and sleek at the same time!

Tell us more about your Big Day!

Our wedding day was beyond perfect. As an Irish and Scottish couple living in Stockholm, it was so special to have both our families join for the first time in a place so special to us. The traditions from the three cultures worked so well together, and it was especially fun to bring in Swedish traditions to make our dinner feel so relaxed and one big celebration. We danced our socks off, cried, laughed and enjoyed every single moment of the day. Also, it was a plus that the sun was shining after weeks of rain. It was simply put, the best day we could have ever imagined.

What was the most memorable moment?

The most memorable moment for me was getting ready in the bridal suite, and seeing Michael and his groomsmen all ready to go from the window. I had a sneak peak and it made me feel so relaxed and ready for the day catching a tiny glimpse of him. Another funny memorable moment was seeing Irish and Swedish attempting a Scottish ceilidh! We were awful at it!

Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?

I can't even pick one, they are all so beautiful!
