How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?
My experience at Eleganza was unforgettable! Lesley made me feel like the most beautiful bride-to-be in the world. It was my first time trying on a wedding dress so I was quite overwhelmed but Lesley picked out the perfect selection of dresses, so that I could decide which elements of each dress I liked. I hadn't found 'the one' at the end of my appointment so Lesley suggested I tried on one more, which had been part of the latest trunk show but no other brides had chosen it yet. As soon as I put her on, I knew I'd found my dress and Lesley and the team gave me the perfect 'say yes to the dress' moment! It was magical and there were lots of tears!
Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?
Proposal Moment:
My husband and I work in London so we decided to escape to the Cotswolds for a weekend in February 2022. Dan was secretly planning to propose in a picturesque, countryside spot but it absolutely poured with rain all day! That evening we were sat by a roaring, open fire at The Wild Rabbit Inn and he decided it was the perfect moment. He got down on one knee...and I said yes!
Favourite part of planning our wedding:
As a couple, we loved writing our ceremony with celebrant Tim Maguire. It told our guests the story of us in the perfect way and reminded us of all the reasons we fell in love in the first place.
I also LOVED my meetings with the team at Wildflowers Edinburgh. Ian, Jenny and Scott are amazingly talented and I loved the creativity and beauty of the whole process.
Honeymoon Plans:
We had our mini-moon straight after the wedding at the beautiful Gleneagles to enjoy the Scottish sunshine for a little bit longer. For our honeymoon we've planned our dream trip to South Africa for a safari in October.

Tell us more about your Essense of Australia gown!
My dress was part of a trunk show collection by Essence of Australia and 'MARA' later became part of the main collection. I love it because it is romantic and timeless with the big blouson sleeves bringing a little bit of drama. I felt so amazing wearing it on our wedding day and everyone said it was 'so beautiful and so me' which I think is the greatest compliment you can receive about your wedding dress.
What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?
I was inspired by the romantic feeling of an English country garden and followed a simple colour palette of white and green with a few accents of black to complement the interiors of Carlowrie Castle and give it a modern edge.
Tell us more about your Big Day!
We were so blessed with the weather on our wedding day. The sun shone all day and it was 22 degrees! The sunshine made Carlowrie Castle look even more magical.
I travelled in the wedding car from The George in Edinburgh with my mum and it was so special to share that moment with her. My dad waited for me on the steps of Carlowrie Castle and our first look was really special too.
I chose Dan's sister Shannon to be my bridesmaid and she looked spectacular in an emerald green Marchesa Notte gown. My brother Dale was my man of honour and travelled from LA to celebrate us. Dan's best man was his brother Jamie and they all looked amazing in classic tuxedos.
Our wedding was a true reflection of us a couple, with special touches such as a wedding scent using scented candles and a hamper from our favourite Fortnum & Mason as our gift basket.
We wanted our guests to know how much we appreciated them so we wrote everyone a handwritten note on personalised note cards designed with The Bridal Paperie.
What was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment was when we were piped into our wedding breakfast by The Picked Piper. The bagpipes gave us goosebumps and seeing everyone we loved in one room, smiling and cheering, was incredible.
Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?
Ben captured so many amazing pictures so it is difficult to choose a favourite picture but there is a picture of us arriving at the top table after we've been piped into our wedding breakfast. You can see how much love and happiness we feel in that moment.
