How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?
Straight out of a fairytale! The shop itself is a complete dream, the decor from the outside to the inside is everything luxury and more. The ladies were nothing short of amazing and every one of them made you feel like the Queen that you are. I had a couple of visits and was always made to feel special when looking and trying on dresses and they really pay attention to the details you like. Nothing was ever too much hassel.
Let’s go back to the start - what was your engagement like?
My proposal was so special and the last thing I thought would happen. I am the biggest Disney Fan Girl and we had our first proper family holiday planned to Walt Disney World with our at the time 18 Month old son. Two weeks before we had just gotten the keys to our first family home too so my husband was very much on the stressed side and didn't seem to be looking forward to the holiday. Fast forward to a few days into our holiday we had a great day lined up at The Magic Kingdom which started with a character breakfast with Winnie The Pooh and friends and the smiles from our son was everything and more! As the day went on we witnessed another proposal outside the castle and I got so emotional and cheered for them but little did I know I was going to be getting my own that day. We had a meeting with Mickey Mouse lined up and we had the usual interaction and my husband told Mickey he had one more question to ask and he popped on one knee with a ring in hand. Mickey Mouse of course made the biggest deal out of this and the cast members allowed us 10 minutes extra interaction time to get photos with Mickey and Disney made the moment so special to us, they live for magical moments! I cried the rest of the day and couldn't watch the fireworks for tears the whole night!
Tell us all about your Martina Liana wedding gown.
Oh my gosh!! My chosen dress was a complete dream. From the moment I stepped into this dress on my wedding morning I knew I had made the right choice with this one. I have quite a petite frame and very small upper body so neckline was a huge insecurity for me as I couldn't find anything that I felt comfortable wearing. My dress had an illusion neckline but gave the affect of a sweetheart shape with a deep plunge giving me that element of sass while also feeling comfortable wearing it. The train and back detail was everything! The dress featured a low back with a shaped train that had 3D floral lace and a double tulle layer. The dress was very detailed and beaded and had so much sparkle to it. I paired my dress with a double tiered cathedral length veil that had lace detail just around the edge which added so much length to my overall look. I had a first look with my bridesmaids and there were tears all around. I also got tears off my dad and the groom himself so I knew the dress was definitely the one.
Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette for your wedding decor?
We had original wedding plans to be married in Cyprus and the whole feel was a rustic tavern but due to Covid this had to be re arranged and we decided to plan for a home wedding. We loved the idea of a boho theme and in the end we had a boho meets rock n roll industrial wedding. Our colours were kept to neutral tones and we made use of the beautiful scenery our venue had to offer.
Tell us more about your wedding day!
It was perfect from start to finish. We did have the wedding under restrictions but we were fortunate enough to get an outdoor ceremony and drinks reception. Our venue was called Aswanley and is located in North Aberdeenshire, it is a secluded private blank canvas and gave us so much opportunity to decorate the way we wanted it to. The day goes by so quickly you lose all track of time but everything from the preparations to the dinner was everything we could have hoped for and more. We had the best wedding supplier team.
What was the most memorable moment?
Finally hearing the words "Mr and Mrs"
