My Eleganza Experience was personable, friendly and helpful. Lisa was super helpful on the day I bought my dress. She was always around at my other appointments to say hi!
We were engaged in Venice in December 2016, when it came to choosing where to get married, Italy was an obvious choice for us. We chose to get married on the Amalfi Coast due to its stunning scenery and breathtaking views. We got married in the town gardens of Ravello which sits above the town of Amalfi. A week long celebration with close friends and family were just what we had hoped for. I knew my Essense of Australia dress was the perfect dress for this type of wedding, I instantly thought it looked elegantly Italian!
I loved the soft moscato colour of this dress, the intricate beading was what initially drew my eye to it. I didn’t think I would like a dress so low cut but I instantly fell in love with it and felt it was perfect for our summer Italian wedding. As I had found this dress on my first day of wedding dress shopping, I didn’t want to get ahead of myself so I came back a few weeks later but the feeling stayed the same!
Our wedding was definitely inspired by our engagement in Venice, my husbands love of pizza and the fact we have an Italian greyhound. All of these elements drew us towards an Italian wedding!
We stayed in Amalfi for a week with close friends and family. Two days before the wedding I burned my chin on a piece of pizza and it blistered! Luckily, one of my bridesmaids was an expert at make up and it wasn’t noticeable on the day but I did think WHY ME at the time!
We were married in a traditional Italian ceremony at 4pm in Ravello Town Gardens. From here we went with our photographer to get some beautiful shots around Ravello, Atriani and at our reception venue Le Nereidi. Our reception venue was high in the mountains above the coast, we had a beautiful Italian meal with endless food and drink. We then had a home wedding party for all our extended family and friends at the Burgh Hall in Linlithgow, where our first dance was a giant strip the willow!
The most memorable moment for me was walking down the aisle with my dad and knowing my mum (who passed away in 2013) would be proud.
