Knowing Suzanne Neville was her favorite wedding dress designer, Kerry was excited to try on our simple and elegant Suzanne Neville wedding dresses! Luckily, the last dress we brought out was the perfect combination of timeless and Hollywood glamour for Kerry to say YES to her dream dress.
How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?
The shop itself is beautiful. It’s such a lovely environment to be in - it really feels like a bridal experience and helped to get me so excited. I tried on a variety of dresses and by the end I felt the lady helping me had a good understanding of what I wanted, and so found a discontinued dress - the last one left! It was perfect.
How did your husband propose?
My husband proposed to me on Christmas Day. We were staying away in a cottage With some family. Him and I took a winter walk and ended up on a bridge and he got down on one knee - we were both very emotional! We had the family dog with us who on our way back ran straight towards a wooded area. Turns out my two future brother-in-laws were hidden in there taking pictures! Their commitment was great, they were both soaking from lying down, trying to hide!

Tell us about your Suzanne Neville gown?
I love any dresses by Suzanne Neville, she is my favourite wedding dress designer. She keeps things so simple and elegant. The dress was simple, fitted, low back with a train. It was the most beautiful colour, a sort of warm champagne colour and it had satin detail on the front and on the straps. It felt like an old hollywood glamour gown. I was just coming towards the end of trying dresses on when the ladies at Eleganza said they had one more they thought I’d love - they were right!
What was your inspiration for your wedding?
We had a pretty industrial venue, BAaD, so we wanted something that would work in that space. We had lots of greenery and then colours like white, concrete grey and copper throughout. Lots of green and lots of candles!

Tell us more about your Big Day!
The wonderful ladies at Gloam (formerly The Little White Cow) did all of our styling. Nothing really prepared me for how amazing the venue looked throughout different stages of the day. It was beautiful. It was like a surprise for us too! In the evening they cleared the tables away and brought out chesterfield sofas and armchairs and rugs to create little seating spaces.
We had a humanist ceremony which was so personal to us and a mariachi band came in at the very end of our ceremony as we walked down the aisle and were a complete surprise for all our guests. It brought about a lot of laughter and really signalled the start of the party – I think they cemented the vibe we were going for and helped the guests really relax into the day.
We had a street food set up for catering which consisted of lots of little stalls, fish and chips, pizza, curry, tacos. Everyone commented on the food!
Then we had our main event, The Soul Establishment, a nine piece soul band who kept everyone on the dancefloor all night.
What was the most memorable moment?
Probably the end! Our friends formed a circle and ‘she’s a belter’ came on. My husband and I were in the middle, shoes off, dancing away before everyone flooded the circle. My wonderful maid of honour captured it all and I love looking back at it - there is so much joy!
Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?
There is one picture of us before we were ‘announced’ at dinner. We sat on a bench outside together and had a quiet moment. The photographer snapped us. The picture looks posed, like we were asked to sit there but actually we were having a moment, just the two of us, taking in the day.
