Eleganza Real Bride Julia gives us some insight into her Eleganza Experience and tells us all about her wild and rustic wedding.

How would you describe your first experience at Eleganza?

My experience with Laura was amazing from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and I was given plenty time to narrow down my selection and re-try some dresses I loved the most. I felt so at ease and in very safe and caring hands. What a wonderful experience with my mum that I will cherish for life.

How was your experience with your stylist?

My experiences with both Laura and then Lisa were fantastic. The girls listened to my likes and dislikes and made excellences selections based on my tastes. This level of personalised service really helped my find my perfect gown. My overall experience was amazing. I couldn’t fault it.

Would you like to share your proposal story with us?

My husband proposed on a beautiful beach  called The Strand, on the island of Islay (where we met 7 years ago). The proposal was written in the sand with boxes saying ‘Aye or Naw’. He had taken me to the same beach for a surprise Valentine’s Day walk with champagne 6 and a half years ago.

Tell us all about your Suzanne Neville dress!

I chose the Coco gown from the 2018 collection, and modified to a strapless style. I loved the structuring and the classic button up style at the back. I’ve never felt so beautiful in my life. So many guest have comment on how stunning it was.

What was your inspiration for the wedding?

Our main inspiration for the wedding was to have a wild and rustic island wedding feel where everyone is well fed and watered, and with a great Ceilidh Band to get everyone up and dancing all night.

Tell us more about your big day!

We were treated to the worst rain of the Summer so far with torrential thunder and lightning storms throughout our meal. In the evening the marquee was so flooded that the local fire brigade were called to remove the flood water. If anything this all added to the electric feel of the day and will always be a memorable day for our family and friends.

What was the most memorable moment?

Walking out of the church with my new husband and our wee cavapoo, Ruby, who was our ring bearer.

Do you have a favourite photo from your wedding day?

Our classic confetti shot out side of the Church. It is so colourful and joyful I can’t help but smile every time I see it.

What advice would you give to future brides visiting Eleganza Sposa?

My best advice is simply to enjoy every minute of your day and night. It goes by in a blink. There will always be little things that don’t go exactly to plan – take them in your stride and remember the only thing that matters is that you’ve married the person you love.

Eleganza Real Bride Cheryl’s Scottish themed wedding was a very elegant affair! Find out more about her day below as well as her experience as an Eleganza Bride.

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

I couldn’t fault it! Very good, excellent service. Found my dress in the first one so obviously very good at their job.

All the staff were so helpful and full of positivity.  Exceptional service as you would expect from a boutique
We didn’t propose as such; we just kind of said “Let’s get married” and if you listen to the song of the same title by The Proclaimers then you’ll know why.
Tell us all about your Suzanne Neville dress!
My dress was called “The Phoenix”.  I asked for effortless elegance and that’s what I got.  Everyone on the day said I looked like an old Hollywood starlet.  I wanted a button up back and for it to be sheer.  The dress fit like a glove; the seamstress and her team did an amazing job!
We wanted a Scottish theme.
It was just the perfect day!  I was so emotional seeing everyone I love in one room and seeing my wife to be standing waiting on me.  We were only apart a night yet it felt like a lifetime.  The ceremony is something we will never forget; the most memorable part of the day and the part we both wish we could live over and over again.  Everything just came together perfectly.
For me, the most memorable moment was walking down the aisle with my dad towards the woman I love.

Eleganza Real Bride Jesse talks us through her Eleganza Experience and wedding day!

How would you describe your first appointment?

Superb I found my dress!! Laura was fantastic, made me feel really welcome and discussed my options with me.

How was your experience with your stylist?

Laura was fantastic she had previously looked at my Love List and knew the style I was looking for. She brought out some stunning options but I knew as soon as I tried the ‘Mona’ on it was for me.

Tell us all about your Riki Dalal dress!

It’s a fitted, detailed corset to my waist with lace design and sheer panelling on the back. The bottom skirt is soft Italian lace with intricate detailing around the edges. The dress has a blush, nude overlay which was different to the traditional ivory and white dress and something I love!

Did you have a theme or specific colour palette?

My theme was vintage, blush and white with a few bicycles thrown in for good measure!

Tell us more about your wedding day!

It was amazing from start to end. Louise Hughes from the bridal boutique did me and my sister’s hair for the day. We all did our own make-up and my sister Ruth did mine! We had a vintage VW van that was super cute and picked us up from the venue! The service was lovely at Our Lady’s and was so special. We then moved onto Ingliston where Shauna kept everything in check. She was phenomenal!! The food was superb and everyone is still talking about the sticky toffee pudding!

We then had the band Daytura who ensured the dance floor was never empty. The ceilidh was an absolute scream for our English guests- never laughed so much.
Kevin, our photographer was also brilliant. I really enjoyed the wee hours we had taking photos in-between the meal and the evening guests. It meant I got to spend some time with my husband and catch up.

What was the most memorable moment?

There were so many!! Climbing the fence to where it all began at Jason’s proposal, the vows, dancing with my mum arghhh brilliant day!

How did Jason propose?

Jason proposed to me just over the field from Ingliston Country Club. We are both outdoors people and were out for an evening walk when he asked me.

Please, tell us more about your overall experience with Eleganza Sposa

Personal. I felt like I wasn’t another bride that day, month or that year! Which made a huge difference. All the staff where wonderful from the day to the end. Nothing was a hassle and I was made to feel welcome and valued as a bride.

I couldn’t have done the wedding without all my family members! From my sisters and Jason’s Dad making a sweet cart- the whole thing was brilliant!!

Eleganza Real Bride Louise looks beautiful in her Martina Liana Gown! She tells us more about her wedding day below.

How would you describe your first appointment at Eleganza?

The first appointment was fab, the shop is so grand and luxurious it made the experience memorable.

I loved eleganza, the thing I loved most was the shop and how luxurious it feels when you are in it! The service was great And of course the dress selection is truly out of this world!

How was your experience with the stylist?

My stylist was great! I model at a lot of the wedding shows so I had worn hundreds of dresses before. I had an idea of what I wanted and didn’t want. We picked dresses and just eliminated them until I finally tried on the dress I said yes to.

Tell us all about the dress!

My Martina Liana dress was all lace, with sheer sleeves and lace down the centre of the arms, the train was long with a low back. On the front the lace was placed over my shoulders and cane down slightly at the chest area. For myself it was very hard making a decision on a dress as I had worn so many for work. However, when I had my dress and veil on  it was like nothing I had worn before which I loved! I can’t say I knew as soon as I had the dress on even though I did know I loved the dress, making the decision was hard, but after a quick phone call to my fiancé to give me the reassurance I purchased the dress that day!

Did you have a theme or specific colour palette for your wedding?

I wanted everything very soft colours peach, blush, ivory, golds. I then got my florist to add some brighter tones in the bouquets to stand out! The venue was all neutral tones soft and romantic.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

I had four bridesmaids, a flower girl and page boy! I stayed calm the full morning, I took some time out and went upstairs to do my makeup before going down and joining everyone else! The day goes by in a flash… all the suppliers really do help make your day and they did such an amazing job working around everyone and the chaos that goes on in the getting ready stage! I wish I could go back and do it all over again and I think most of the guests wish they could as well!

What was the most memorable moment?

No one had seen my dress apart from my mum, so the dress revealing was definitely one to remember! Also seeing Chris looking all handsome at the bottom of the alter too!

How did Chris propose?

Chris proposed to me in New York! We were at dinner in a restaurant called ‘The View’ which is up in the sky line and the restaurant rotates so you can see the most amazing views of NYC! After dinner he had the waiter bring the ring over and he got down on one knee! It was special!

What are your plans for your honeymoon?

For our honeymoon we are off to Dubai and the Maldives! Staying at the Ja with an ocean view room in Dubai and then onto the Kuramathi in the Maldives with an amazing beach villa and then a water villa for the last few nights! It’s well earned after planning an amazing wedding day which is not easy!

Eleganza Real Bride Julie tells us all about her Spanish themed wedding as well as her experience as an Eleganza Bride.

How would you describe your first appointment?

Just wow …Was such an exiting, wonderful experience. The shop was absolutely stunning & all the staff were so friendly and made you feel at ease.

How was your experience with your stylist?

Laura was amazing from start to finish so attentive made you feel at ease straight away. She understood exactly the type of style & look I was going for so it didn’t take very long to find my perfect dress.

Tell us about your dress

My dress was absolutely my dream dress I felt like a princess wearing it . I was doing a Spanish themed wedding so the gorgeous lace detailing made it look just perfect . It had a stunning attachment to which gave it a bit of edge .It was the only dress I had saw that gave me that “wow” feeling. I also got a beautiful head piece that had diamonds and leaves through it totally fitted in with my theme so I just had to have it!

Did your wedding have a theme?

Our wedding had a Spanish theme as Arta was based on a Spanish villa. Rustic but modern.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

We chose to have our full wedding day in Arta. We loved how unique a venue it was and the Spanish theme too, so decided to go with that. We fell in love instantly.

The full day was just absolutely beautiful- it was the best day of our lives. We had the most amazing surprise for guests too as we came down the staircase to do our first dance we had 100 rose petals poured over us over the balcony. It was so romantic I actually started  crying.

My cake was a rustic naked cake with orchids around it. The band were absolutely fab and our guests kept telling us how amazing they thought our pianist Alex was on the day. Such a talented lovely man . Our day was just perfect and went just how we wanted it. We would love to do it all again- especially wear my dress!

What was the most memorable moment?

Our first dance, it was so romantic

How was your overall experience at Eleganza?

Amazing experience from start to finish.

I was having some trouble remembering how my attachment  actually hooked onto my dress so contacted the shop and the lovely Laura offered to come to my house to show me what to do which I thought was so kind of her it saved me taking my dress back up to the shop. Definitely beyond my expectation. So kind.

Eleganza Real Bride Gemma Mair won the Eleganza ultimate bridal experience which entitled her to a one to one style discussion with Anna! Gemma tells us about her time at Eleganza below.

I won the ultimate bridal experience Facebook competition where I had the luxury of having a one-on-one style discussion with the lovely Anna and then had my hair and make up done before trying on the amazing dresses.  It was just perfect from start to finish.

How was your experience with the stylist?

The full Eleganza Experience was just perfect from start to finish.  I had only ever visited one other bridal boutique prior to my visit but Eleganza was just beautiful in every way. The stylist knew what I had in mind and knew which dress I would love but advised me to try others on first.  The dress she thought I would love turned out to be “the one”.

Tell us all about the dress!

I went for the Suzanne Neville Rene dress.  I knew I wanted to look elegant and modern and this dress was all that and more.  When I added it to my love list I just had a feeling about it.  I tried other dresses in store before this one but as soon as I saw it on I just got that feeling.  It was beautiful and ticked all the specifications I described to Anna earlier in the day.  When my Mum and Sisters seen me in it they agreed that was it.

Did you have a theme for your wedding?

My theme was white and gold.  I took inspiration from different celebrity weddings I loved throughout the years: Kim Kardashian, Morgan Stewart and Olivia Palermo and a touch of Sex and the City type glam.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

It was perfect!  I can’t describe it any other way!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

The reaction to my dress.  I think everyone expected me in a fishtail.

Please, tell us more about your overall experience with Eleganza Sposa.

Lisa was just so helpful and a credit to the business.  She’s just so lovely and puts everyone at ease!

The detail to my fittings were amazing my dress was tailored and made bespoke to my body type and because of the weight of my Stevie skirt there was a lot of intricate detail into how it would fit and it was all done perfectly I was blown away by your wonderful talented work!

How was your one-to-one experience with your stylist?

Lisa was absolutely amazing from my very 1st appointment right through until my final fitting. She listened to every detail and couldn’t be more helpful in fact she actually chose my dream dress on my very 1st appointment… I couldn’t have done it without her!

The lace corset which fitted like a glove, the sensational horse hair Stevie skirt which I had extra fabric added on to; the train was out of this world (a true Cinderella dress!) My stunning belt with its beaitdl diamanté embellishment completed the look. Not to forget my gorgeous veil which was trimmer with the most beautiful lace, diamanté and pearl detailing.

What was your inspiration for your wedding?

The inspiration for our wedding was romance. We wanted our decor to be clean and crisp, no colour just all white and mirror with candle light.

Tell us more about your wedding!

Myself and my partner Jay got married on 1st June 2018. I stayed at my grans the night before and left from there to go to our venue – The Parsonage at Dunmore Park.

This entry is written from Christopher McShane’s point of view (Angela’s husband).

The Big Adventure of a Beautiful Dress

It all started on a cool, dry night at a remote spot on the idyllic North Sands of St Andrews. A trail of flickering tea lights guided Angela to a picturesque spot underneath the stars. There, I got down on one knee, presented the ring and, on turning her gaze from the illuminated sky to me, she uttered those beautiful, poetic words – “What are you doing down there?”

Thankfully an “I Do” quickly followed and, in a translucent moment of perfect symmetry, locals down the road let off an abundance of fireworks into the sparkling sky.

Now the planning could commence.

Even before our engagement, we had been creating a holiday to somewhere each of us had put at the top of our “would most like to visit” list – Canada. This wasn’t any ordinary trip, we wanted to experience the busyness of the big cities like Vancouver but also the promise of the glorious stillness that a cabin on the beach in Tofino could offer or life at a horse ranch near the borders. The schedule became even more expansive with us now planning to dip in and out of the U.S along the way.

Then we discovered Emerald Lake.

Quite by chance, I had found it online and its expansive pale green water, trapped on all sides by towering, snow-capped mountains and lush forests, immediately caught me breathless. They offered elopement packages and, suddenly, everything clicked. A secret wedding set to a stunning backdrop whilst on our dream holiday – perfect.

As I finished our Canadian adventure plans, Angela’s hunt for the perfect dress had began with great enthusiasm. Sadly, however, the giddiness of shopping for that once in a lifetime number quickly wore off after her first couple of experiences. From the cold blandness of a bridal ‘supermarket’ to the downright rudeness of another, she was left unconvinced that the dress was out there.

Within walking through the door at Eleganza that all changed.

She was instantly made to feel rightly special by Anna and Jill and given reassurances that the dress she’s been dreaming of was waiting for her.

And what a dress.

Angela takes up the description…

Without asking my dress size – so amazing! The only question Jill asked: ”what style of dress am I looking for?” Within moments: she turned up with four dresses to choose from…all of them were stunning, all dresses were my size and all my style. It was so hard to choose with so much choice.

But I went with my heart and my emotional reaction from my stunning sister inlaw Colette and best friend/Mum the lovely Annette – I knew then, with their reaction and my heart beating so fast with excitement, I knew then I found my dress to marry the man of my dreams.

It is as breathtaking as it is unique – a lace and tulle fit and flare gown from Essense of Australia. My dress has a unique lace pattern that is enhanced perfectly with rich and delicate sparkle running throughout. It has a sweetheart neckline style and organic lace hem which extends effortlessly into thin lace straps. The lace pattern continues down through the hips, hugging my curves, before tapering off onto the full, tulle skirt. The back of the gown has an illusion of a ribbon back surrounded by breathtaking lace that perfectly hugged my figure. And my dramatic train finishes the look off magnificently. My dress was truly complete with a long cathedral lace veil which has beautiful details of lace and sparkle running throughout the length.

To not only find the perfect dress but to also have it ready in time for our Canada adventure was something of a miracle. All team at Eleganza made my wedding dreams come true. Now it had to survive two weeks of life inside a travel case!

Angela nervously waved goodbye to her special luggage, wrapped in fragile tissue paper. After an eight hour flight, a trip on a Vancouver train and being wheeled through busy streets, we made it to the hotel and where, out of my eyesight, it was oh so carefully unravelled and minutely inspected. It had survived.

For the next two weeks the dress travelled with us, be it lying on the back seat of our rental car, on boats as we sailed to our next destination or hanging in a small Seattle apartment and flies of the ranch.

We made it to Emerald Lake the night before we were to become one and it was then, at that last hurdle, that the dress’ unblemished state nearly unravelled. We had to get a minibus to the resort, a short half mile or so away. However a disinterested driver and an overcrowded bus meant the dress had to sit at the back. By the time we recovered it back into Angela’s arms, the dress cover was badly marked.

It seemed incredulous that it would survive this long only for us to now have to face up to any imperfections. Thankfully, once open, our fear were unfounded and I was told everything was still perfect.

I married Angela at 1.15pm on 1st June 2017 and unsurprisingly, despite doing so against the most stunning of vistas, it was my bride and her beautiful, elegant Eleganza dress that really took my breath away.

Now we had to get that dress home for the next wedding with all the family…

Thank you so much for helping me find the most stunning gown and altering it perfectly for me. My gown was everything I had been looking for and more and I knew the instant I tried it on it was the one for me. I hadn’t found anything like this in any other shops and knew as soon as I saw it on the website I had to book an appointment. All the staff were so helpful and made me feel really comfortable and the shop is gorgeous too. I’m sad I won’t get to visit again now it’s all over.
