La Libertà
Eleganza Sposa are delighted to announce their new collection of unique wedding dresses within our ‘Iconica’ collection. Aptly named ‘La Libertà’, the new collection is inspired by the natural beauty of our country, Scotland. The soft, romantic style desired by today’s modern bride is exemplified by the delicate nature of these gowns. The designs are relaxed, yet unforgettable!
My Inspiration Behind the Gowns
The fluid movement of the designs draw inspiration from the sea; the tracks left in the sand at low tide are echoed in the soft lines and structure of the wedding gowns. The designs also draw from the drama of the ocean spray surging into the rugged rocks, commanding and magnificent. The array of wildflowers dancing along the roadside, their delicate beauty ever transforming with the elements.
The long grasses inconspicuously nestled amongst the sand dunes, a subtle yet strong presence. The elusive shadows that dance in the breeze, both elegantly captured in the movement of the designs.
The delicate iridescence of the designs is reminiscent of dappled light permeating through the trees with the magical and resplendent Bass Rock on the horizon.
Evocative of the array of wildflowers dancing along the roadside, the floral appliqué utilised in some of the gowns perfectly captures the natural beauty of the Scottish coast. The style of the modern bride is perfectly encapsulated by the designs of ‘La Libertà’.
The peach and pink hues used to embellish the wedding gowns are drawn from the warmth of the evening sky just as the sun is setting. The tonal embroidery as well as the champagne metallic threads reminiscent of flora washed onto the shores. The addition of fine ostrich feathers, symbolic of the grass, supplement the texture of the wedding dresses. Accentuating the long illusion sleeves with the addition of three-dimensional flower appliqués enhances the intense luxury of the designs. The combination of cascading fabrics, intricate detailing and the gentle colour tones intensifies the romantic feel of the gowns.
The ‘La Libertà’ Photoshoot
The decision to shoot our beautiful bridal dresses in North Berwick, Scotland was a very easy one. Only a short distance from Glasgow, it seemed a million miles away from our vibrant city. Such a charming seaside town with stunning settings; the perfect back drop for our latest Iconica bridal range. With beautiful beaches and exquisite landscapes, all elevated further by the glorious weather on the day, it really was the perfect storm.
Our convoy of models, stylists,
make-up and hair artists, gifted photographer
Stewart Bryden and of course me, had the most amazing day which was definitely elevated further due to the arresting beauty of the location. The third and final location, Seacliff Beach, where we captured the last shots of the day was a more isolated, private beach- a must for everyone's bucket list. I will be sharing this enchanting location with all my Italian visiting family and friends forever more when they visit Scotland.
In addition, I would like to thank Sandy and his dog for being so kind and hospitable to us as he contributed to the Bonhomie vibe of our day.
Ramilia, our hair stylist kept us thoroughly amused throughout the day with her funny and quirky philosophy of life.
Our four legged models also merit a mention. They stole the show and it wouldn't have been the same without them! My favourite image from the day is the one where Cody, our head seamstress' blonde Labradoodle, decides to join in on the action.
We hope you love our ‘La Libertà’ collection which is soon to be launched in in our bridal boutique.
